From 2003-2006, In the Raw was one of the most successful showcases of local music on the Bay area scene. Now CL in Concert gives ITR new life — for one evening. The Unplugged-style concert will feature Geri X, a formidable singer/songwriter who displays naked emotion in her songs and performances; she splits time between Milwaukee and Tampa Bay. Also on the bill is the venerable Ronny Elliott, the 61-year-old Davis Islands troubadour who specializes in story songs sung in his rough-hewn, conversational voice. Besides showcasing singer/songwriters, ITR has traditionally provided a platform for members of bands to play solo. To that end, Mikey Bostino of Très Bien, Shawn Kyle of The Beauvilles and Katherine Kelly of Nous Rapport and Sons of Hippie will take the stage. Young rockers Hat Trick Heroes will do an acoustic set. ITR shows brim with camaraderie and good feeling; surprise guests and unusual on-stage pairings could break out at any time.
