General Motors is utilizing about 100 miles worth of plastic boom material, once used to keep some of the oil at bay along the Gulf shores, and turning it into vehicle parts for the plug-in hybrid electric Chevy Volt. The recycled booms will be used to deflect air around the vehicle's radiator.
