It's almost two weeks until Halloween. What's your costume situation? If you are still without a costume and a clue, don't go buying one at the mall or online. Why shell out over fifty bucks for a cheap costume you might only wear once? Go the greener and economical route this year and make your own from inexpensive or found items. You'll be saving resources like gasoline from transportation and packaging materials if you were to buy online, and you'll be saving a good bit of money.
TheDailyGreen has a great slideshow on homemade Halloween costumes made from recycled items. My favorites are the Etch-a-Sketch, Wall-E and Lego Man costumes.
Threadbanger is another great site with how-to videos on making your own Halloween costumes and accessories, including:
Poison Ivy costume (from Batman & Robin)
Sub Zero (from Mortal Kombat)
And, last but not least, Instructables is yet another informative site with plenty of DIY costumes and projects for Halloween.
