Gorilla Theatre unwraps a special production just in time for the holiday season. A Gorilla Winter features The Long Christmas Dinner, Thornton Wilder's classic play dealing with family, tradition and the passage of time and told via 90 years' worth of Christmases celebrated by 11 members and four generations of an American family. A performance of Maury Yeston's December Songs follows. This series of 10 poems "of love lost, of the struggle to move on and of the resilience of the human spirit" is set to music and based on Schubert's Die Winterreise (Winter Journey), in which a young man wanders through an Austrian forest; in this version, a young woman wanders through NYC's Central Park.
