Dorian wreaking havoc elsewhere made for really mild weather conditions on Wednesday, but it’s about to be hot as hell in Tampa Bay on Thursday and Friday.
This morning, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for much of the Tampa Bay area.
“Temps will run above seasonal norms especially along the coast with the onshore flow supporting very warm overnight lows in the upper 70s to lower 80s with mid-70s inland areas with daytime highs today and again on Friday climbing into the lower to mid 90s,” it said in its forecast discussion.
The worst part is that the combination of the hot temperatures and high humidity will “create high heat indices exceeding 108 degrees across a large portion of the forecast area today and likely again on Friday.”
So yeah, it’s gonna hot as balls. Drink water, fools.
A Heat Advisory will be in effect for much of the area today. If you work or spend time outside stay in the shade when possible and drink plenty of fluids. In addition there is a high risk of rip currents at area beaches. Details for your location at: https://t.co/FElkQjQZHw pic.twitter.com/qtnrgSRtUl
