Lots of activity in the cases of John Dingfelder and Linda Saul-Sena on Tuesday afternoon, less than a week after they both stunned the region with their sudden resignations from the Tampa City Council due to their failure to complete paperwork to the supervisor of elections office that they would be resigning to run for Hillsborough County Commission in November.
Dingfelder surprised again today when he wrote a letter to supporters dropping out of the race for the district one county commission seat. However, CL has just spoken with Hillsborough Democratic Party chair Pat Kemp, who says that she is calling for a meeting of the party's members of their executive committee tomorrow night, and the plan is to renominate Dingfelder.
Then again, this is the Hillsborough Democratic Party, which rarely avoids a fight of some sort. That will take place at 7 p.m. at the Children's Board in Ybor City,
Meanwhile, Dingfelder's partner in resigning last week, 19 year Council regular Linda Saul-Sena, tells CL that she is not dropping out of the race whatsoever.
