For the last 24 hours roughly 94,000 residents in Hillsborough County were forced to boil their drinking water, but it now it seems to be over.

This afternoon, Hillsborough County officials dropped the precautionary water boil notice, which was started after a power issue on Tuesday caused water pressure in the service area south of SR 60 and east of I-75 to fall below 20 psi.

“The notice was lifted today after bacteriological samples showed the water meets quality standards,” said the county in a statement.

Customers with more questions regarding the boil notice can contact the Hillsborough County Water Resources Department at (813) 744-5600.
