In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, finding a place to fuel up your car has become a bit of a challenge, but gas stations are slowly starting to reopen and reload their tanks.

Here’s where you can find places to fuel up in the Tampa Bay area:

Wawa
Wawa has released an interactive Fuel Status Map that allows users to see the current status of Wawa’s power and gasoline. Be sure to check that the “green” labeled locations have gasoline and are not just indicators of open convenience stores.

Some of the locations in Tampa with gas include:

– 7408 E. Hillsborough Avenue Tampa, FL 33610
– 1215 N. Missouri Avenue Largo, FL 33770
(Limited supply) 3637 34th Street South St. Petersburg, FL 3371
(Limited supply) 8325 N. Florida Avenue Tampa, FL 33604
(Limited supply) 2604 S. US Highway 301 Tampa, FL 33619

RaceTrac
Similar to Wawa, RaceTrac has an updated list of all their locations and what is currently available at each one. To find a location nearest to you, put in your zip code to see what’s available.

The only Tampa location currently listed on their site that has gas is:

(Regular only) 5951 N. U.S. Hwy 301 Tampa, FL 33610
(Diesel only) 2854 Gulf To Bay Blvd Clearwater, FL 33759
(Diesel only) 6601 Ulmerton Rd Largo, FL 33771

GasBuddy
GasBuddy is an app that allows users to mainly update local gas prices in real time, but the app also labels which stations have gas, electricity and diesel. When looking in your area, be sure to filter the stations to “Has Gas” to see what’s available.

Some of the user-reported locations in Tampa with gas include:

Chevron
– 4650 W Kennedy Blvd & S West Shore Blvd Tampa, FL
As of 11 a.m. today, this location had power and regular gas, but not diesel.

CITGO

Other options to find open gas stations is to go at odd hours or check out your local small, independent gas station to see its current status.

Currently, 77% of gas stations in the Tampa Bay area are without fuel, as of today at 1:30 p.m., according to GasBuddy’s Fuel Availability Tracker. This is up 15% from yesterday morning, Oct. 12.

“It may get slightly worse before it starts getting better,” said Patrick De Haan on X, the Head of Petroleum Analysis at GasBuddy. “Port Tampa is not yet open meaning gasoline supplies remain constrained.”
