Is the anger over Stephen Fry’s comments on sexuality justified? (updated with audio)

You may think I'm just another female writer jumping on the "I hate Stephen Fry" bandwagon, but you would be wrong.

Stephen Fry, a rather popular gay British blogger, has received some backlash for comments he made regarding women's motives for having sex. While his feelings may not be popular, or delicately expressed, they certainly aren't unique or even that offensive considering the extremes of free speech on the internet. Here's an excerpt from his interview (re-posted here by Melissa Wright)

Fry, 53, made the controversial comments during an interview with gay magazine Attitude, in which he claimed to feel “sorry for straight men” who he believes feel that “they disgust women.”

He went on to suggest that "if women liked sex as much as men, there would be straight cruising areas in the way there are gay cruising areas.”
