Well, this week sucked. There was this, and this, and this and this. We’ve all traipsed our way to Friday, though by now we are feeling a little like this.

While there’s nothing that can reverse this week’s events, there is one universally effective method of salving our psychic wounds: babby animals. Or…you know… baby animals.

Earlier this week, Winnie, a baby rhino was born at Tampa’s Busch Gardens, and she’s about as much the antithesis to this week as one can imagine.

Let us all marvel at the adorableness of this 140-pound baby white rhino and reflect on all the good there is in this world despite the events of the last five days.

White rhinos are not technically endangered, like almost every other non-human species on the planet, they face habitat loss. Plus, there are morons out there who think consuming rhino horn enhances male virility or something really stupid like that. Thus, they are hunted in the wild.

Winnie and her ilk are helping raise public awareness of this scourge (we hope) by being at Busch Gardens.

But despite rhinoceroses being relatively docile (you haven’t lived until you’ve hosed one down or fed one cabbage), and this one in particular being adorable, you can’t go hug WInnie (as much as we’d all like to).
