Former Tampa City Councilman John Dingfelder has now joined the ACLUFL’s Mid-Florida Regional Office in Tampa.
“John is a great addition to our staff and will be an outstanding resource for us and on ongoing work to protect and defend religious liberties and all our rights guaranteed by the Constitution,” said Randall Marshall, Legal Director for ACLU of Florida.
If Dingfelder had gotten his way a year ago, he wouldn't be joining the venerable civil liberties organization. After stepping down (earlier than he intended to) a year ago from the Council, he sets his sights on capturing a seat on the Hillsborough County Commission.
But it was not to be as the Democrat – caught up in what he said was the nationalization of a local election – lost to Republican Sandy Murman for the District 1 seat last fall.
