USF faculty and guest artists are the creative forces behind Exhale — An Evening of Dance and Voice, the first dance production of the 2006-07 School of Theatre and Dance season. The program features faculty member/choreographer Julio Montano's "Sense," a contemporary piece inspired by and set against the warm, passionate vocals of Spanish singer Maria del Mar Bonet; "Once … Not So Very Long Ago," a collaboration between faculty member Lynne Wimmer and her composition students that has dancers relating stories via movement and words; choreographer and faculty member Jeanne Travers' latest, "Ritmo del Corazon (Rhythm of the Heart)," a three-part, upbeat piece fusing salsa movements and rhythms with modern dance and live Cuban salsa music by violinist, Dayren Santamaria; "The Sound of Moving," an interdisciplinary dance/theatre work choreographed by guest artist Janis Brenner and presented by DanceUSF; and faculty member Michael Foley's "The Carpet," a lively, 13-dancer number set to "a driving, sub-Continental-meets-pan-Asian house music score" by Manuel Wandji and DJ Cheb I Sabbah. 8 p.m. Thurs.-Sat., through Nov. 4, USF College of Visual and Performing Arts-Theatre II, Tampa, $12 adults/$6 students and seniors, 813-974-2323, www.artsmart.usf.edu.
