Kid City, the miniature metropolis that's provided local children with fond memories for more than two decades (this writer included), has officially closed in preparation for the construction of the Glazer Children’s Museum (the new, more impersonal and not very interesting museum design is pictured at right). But never fear — if you never got to take your brood to the classic play place, Kid City re-opens from 1 to 8 p.m. Fri., Dec. 5 for a special closing ceremony with Mayor Pam Iorio. Admission is free.
