A Polk County ER nurse was arrested for DUI and child endangerment Wednesday night after she drove an SUV into a retention pond with an 8-year-old girl in the vehicle.
Neighbors saw the accident and called 911, reportedly remarking on the woman's drunken condition while on the line. The 8-year-old was able to get to safety, while the driver was said to be stumbling as she exited the vehicle. Her BAC was reportedly .13, more than one-and-a-half times the legal limit.
This is the woman's second DUI arrest; she pled a September 2016 charge down to reckless driving, and was released from her probation in May of this year.
That didn't take long at all.
