Tampa City Councilwoman Linda Saul-Sena has now joined her former colleague John Dingfelder in resigning from the Council, apparently because of her failure to submit a resignation letter within the proper timeframe as she prepares to run for Hillsborough County Commission this fall.

Both Dingfelder and Saul-Sena were missing from the beginning of this morning's busy agenda at the council.  Dingfelder submitted his resignation letter yesterday to officials, but Saul-Sena had not, and her absence was not officially noted at the beginning of the meeting.

Dingfelder quit because he missed the 10 day deadline to submit a letter to election officials required of Florida lawmakers who have announced  their intention to run for a different office.  He says he quit immediately because a provision allows him to stay on the November ballot if he did so.

Apparently, the same situation applies for Saul-Sena.
