A newly filed finance report shows that the committee Friends of Ron DeSantis added only $258.33 in May from interest on a bank account — while also refunding a $12,500 contribution that Naples resident Rhodora Donahue had made in March.
The committee also spent $9,950 in May, with the money going to consulting and accounting expenses. The committee, which has played a key political role for DeSantis, also did not raise money in April as they state grappled with the coronavirus pandemic.
Even without additional money coming in, however, the committee had about $7 million in available cash as of May 31, according to the finance report.
