Last year, organizers of Hip Hop Against Hunger collected nearly 400 pounds of food for the homeless. They hope to double that number with the second annual edition held in collaboration with Feeding America: Tampa Bay. In addition to sets by DJs Charlie Chase, Ranmecca, Rahim Samad and Shafiq, b-boy action by Future Legendz, and live graffiti and freestyle art by Ersk and Nonstop Originals, attendees enjoy lyrical swagger and hip hop bounce by a range of local talent, from slow-rhyming alt soul-fused artist ?nowledge, to CL fave, the "Femcee" Dynasty. She just dropped her brand-new Love EP, which is worthy of a spot on our top local albums of 2011 list, but somehow slipped through the cracks when we put it out last week. Grab your copy and feed the needy this Saturday.
