The downtown St. Pete record shop takes over the 600 Block with its RSD party, opens early (at 8 a.m.), and features storewide sales and specials that change throughout the day, cupcakes, libations and more. MICROGROOVE
The new store opened by Carl Webb and Keith Ulrey of New Granada hosts their inaugural RSD event. Doors open extra early (7 a.m.), free PBR is served throughout the day, 10 percent off on everything except for RSD releases and consignment merchandise, and DJ Blenda spins records in the midst of live performances by four area groups from 1 to 4 p.m.: Poetry n' Lotion, Mrenc, Feral Babies and Empire Cinema. 7 a.m.-8 p.m., 4906 N. MOJO BOOKS & MUSIC
Mojo offers more special, limited releases than ever – they've ordered upwards of 300 titles and expect a huge shipment. Of course, there's really no telling what will actually show up, so get there early if you'e jonesin' for a particular release, get there early. Also: free PBR throughout the day, short stand-up sets by comedian Elliott Stoeckinger a vegan bakesale to benefit Florida Voices for Animals, freebie bags for early customers, giveaway drawings and special sales.
