Everyone loves a reunion, so why not more of The Same? The erstwhile Clearwater band with a heavy wallop of D.C. progressive-post-punk, was an under-drinking-age sensation in the '00s. Back then, the geeky-talented musicians and longtime friends headlined packed, all-ages shows with fellow rockers Tres Bien and Disco Nap at popular live music standbys like the Neptune in Tarpon Springs.
See the redux of the original lineup this Saturday, when guitarist/singer Ryan Metcalf re-bands with bassist Brian Schanck and drummer Chase Leonard; on-again, off-again member Damon Harper will also join them. It'll be interesting to see how these guys, so youthful in their heyday, sound now with a backlog of experience. Says bassist Schanck: "It's weird because we have all been in different bands, and now at band practice, after we play a song, we're like, 'Whoa that was good.' That didn't happen before."
