Fresh off a new Rasmussen poll that shows him back ahead of Charlie Crist in the race for U.S. Senate in Florida, Marco Rubio has announced a coterie of Washington and Tallahassee stars to be part of his Policy Advisory Committee.
Heading the list is former State Department official Liz Cheney, who has become ubiquitous on the cable news channels over the last year, as the more visible member of the Cheney clan blasting President Obama for every conceivable reason regarding his foreign policy and/or actions on terrorism.
Also on the list is one of his first D.C. supporters of note, South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint (he of "Waterloo" fame, and we're not talking about the Abba classic) who is listed as an honorary chair of the campaign, along with Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan.
Patricia Levesque, who heads the Jeb Bush formed Foundation for Excellence in Education and the Foundation for Floridas Future, was also named to the group.
Back to the new Rasmussen: It shows Rubio leading in the three way race with 39%, Charlie Crist second with 31%, and Kendrick Meek at 18%. Although Democrats earlier this year were charging that Rasmussen's surveys were on average skewed slightly more favorably to conservatives, they haven't been making that claim much lately.
