Neo-soul singer Bishop.W has the voice, phrasing chops and passion to sell a sultry come-on or a down-on-bended-knee lover's lament. A student of polished, Marvin Gaye-indebted slow jams, Bishop.W displays plenty of talent, but there's a sameness to his self-released full-length that is exacerbated by the disc's dated — very '90s — production. Align Bishop.W with a few songwriting doctors plus an ace producer, and the Tampa native could easily find himself on BET. 3 stars
