Man who signed Young Jeezy, Rick Ross promoted

Shakir Stewart (pictured) signed no-talent coke rappers Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and "First Lady of Crunk & B" Ciara.

Stewart has been rewarded for his contributions to popular music with a promotion to Executive Vice President, Def Jam Recordings.

(June 3, 2008 – New York, NY) Shakir Stewart has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Def Jam Recordings, it was announced today by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group. Mr. Stewart will report directly to Mr. Reid, and to Steve Bartels, President & COO, Island Def Jam Music Group, on operational matters. Stewart will be based in Atlanta and New York.
