It was an interesting weekend for Kendrick Meek, and Florida politics overall.

The Miami based Democratic Congressman gave what the Palm Beach Post reported over the weekend as a "rousing" speech to delegates at the Florida AFL-CIO convention in Jacksonville, and ended up being endorsed by the labor group.  No surprise for the federation to endorse a Democrat, right?  Well, not exactly, as there were strong rumors throughout the day on Saturday that the organization was contemplating a "co" endorsement of both Meek and Florida Governor Charlie Crist, who spoke before the group and reportedly received a "warm" reaction.

And there was precedence, as the Florida Education Association announced earlier on Saturday that they were in fact, endorsing both Meek and Crist for Governor.

The big labor endorsement also perhaps soothed Meek's disposition as he learned that he's making little inroads with his own Democratic Party electorate, according to a St. Pete Times/Miami Herald/Bay News 9 survey published on Sunday.
