We spent some quality time with some of Mitt Romney's supporters yesterday afternoon at the Tampa Port Authority — waiting for their man (whose hair earned a front-page story last week in the New York Times) to appear. After an hour, he did. For all of ten minutes.
Speaking of the presumptive front-runner, he's got new trouble on the right: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is surging in a series of new polls released overnight from a polling firm (which, it must be noted, has close ties to the former House Speaker). That includes a new survey in Florida, that has — believe it or not — Gingrich up by more than 20 points over Romney.
The first reviews are in on those redrawn congressional and legislative district maps — and they're getting the thumbs down sign, even from some local Republicans.
And some advocates of comprehensive immigration reform spoke yesterday about how far the Republican Party as a whole has run away from the issue in just five years' time.
