Good morning everyone.
Let's take a break from South Carolina to focus on Tallahassee. Yesterday Republicans revived the contentious issue of privatizing state prisons and correctional facilities – a measure that was thwarted by the courts in 2011.
It's not easy being a member of the minority in Tallahassee -ask any Democrat. Yesterday Senate Minority Leader Nan Rich held a news conference to announce what advocates are calling the "Fair Economy Act," which, like a lot of legislation they propose, has probably zero chance of becoming a reality.
Supposedly Newt Gingrich's ex-wife (one of them) is expected to unload on her husband in a televised interview later today. Whether that will influence South Carolina primary voters or not, Gingrich admits it's all over if he doesn't win or do extremely well this Saturday in the Palmetto state.
And Tampa Bay Times staff members learned earlier this week that a pay cut that they took back in September will continue for at least another four months.
