Good morning and happy Friday to everyone.
As you probably know by now, 29 people affiliated with the Occupy Tampa movement were arrested in or outside Tampa's Riverfront Park early this morning, the single biggest bust of those activists since their encampment in downtown Tampa began two months ago. CL was there for much of the evening, but not for the actual arrests, which happened around midnight .
Earlier in the day we were focused on actions by the Tampa City Council. A proposal that will crack down on men soliciting prostitutes in the city is just one more vote away from becoming law. That law will impound the vehicle of the offending john, as it were.
Also yesterday, members of the Council expressed outrage at the lack of urgency of city officials in the wake of a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a pregnant woman last week.
