Well, with Iowa now history in the GOP presidential sweepstakes, it’s on to New Hampshire, where Mitt Romney is expected to win, somewhat easily. So do we still have a competitive race, or not?

A month ago Newt Gingrich was supposed to be the latest Newt-killer. That didn’t happen, and after a fusillade of negative ads ran by a third party against him, the former House Speaker labeled Romney a “liar” yesterday, a term that jarred the media, if not the former Massachusetts Governor.

Well, the circus is back in town-literally. With Ringling Brothers at the Tampa Bay Times Forum until Sunday comes complaints about their treatment of animals. Actress and animal rights activist Cloris Leachman is concerned about the treatment of the elephants at this circus, as she detailed in a letter to Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn last month.

And you might recall that little flap in the GaYBOR business district last summer, when several members of the Hillsborough County Commission failed to support a proclamation honoring the gay-friendly Ybor business community. GaYBOR’s leader, Carrie West expressed anger at that time, but he’s a bit happier today after the BOCC named him to a historical board.
