The dream is over for the USF men’s basketball team, after the Bulls went down to defeat to Ohio in Nashville last night, 62-56. There were lots of college basketball all over the airwaves – some of it actually well played – lots of it not so much. Congrats to the Bulls to getting the furthest they’ve ever come in the NCAA’s, even if they were, in the words of ESPN’s Doug Gottlieb, not very “easy on the eyes” (or did not see the first half of the Temple game Friday night?)
Although maybe not that significant now that we’ve pulled most of our troops out of there, but it was nine years ago today that the U.S. began the invasion of Iraq. But it’s Afghanistan where we still have 90,000 troops, and according to John McCain and Mitt Romney, we’re actually winning over there. Actually, that’s what McCain said – Romney said he would have to “consult the Generals” to learn what’s happening there.
On Saturday activists and some local residents in West Tampa protested a proposal that might eliminate a 70-year-old public housing complex.
And one Tampa Bay area Democratic political consultant, Mitch Kates, is plying his trade overseas for the next seven months – in the nation of Georgia.
