George Zimmerman goes before a judge this morning hoping to get bond and thus his release for the time being before his trial begins in the Trayvon Martin case. Yesterday Trayvon's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, were in Tampa observing a town hall meeting discussing the Stand Your Ground law, racial profiling, and other aspects of this national story. The parents attorney, Benjamin Crump, says it shouldn't be granted.
The Tampa City Council hasn't been able to accomplishing anything substantive regarding the homeless issue in the city, but that's not because they don't want to, as was made clear yesterday.
The Council also voted yesterday on spending more of that $50 million pot of U.S. taxpayers money for security for the Republican National Convention – this time for fences and khaki uniforms for law enforcement officials.
