A group of Tampa Bay residents who want to save the Friendship Trail Bridge will release their plan to save the bridge on Wednesday today at 1:30 p.m. at 5151 West Gandy Boulevard.

Today in Charlotte, N.C., there are expected to be as many as 1,000 protesters demonstrating at Bank of America's annual shareholder meeting. Charlotte Police will be using their increased powers bestowed upon them by the City Manager under "extraordinary events," something that will no doubt be employed when the Democratic National Convention takes place there in September. Similar anti-Bank of America rallies will take place across the country today, including in Tampa.
A Democratic plan to make sure the student loan interest rates don't double in July received a majority of votes yesterday in the U.S. Senate, but in Senate math, you need 60 votes to pass the measure, not 51. Marco Rubio was one of those who opposed the measure.
