That rumor has gained steam in recent days, especially after incoming House Speaker Will Weatherford endorsed one of Norman's challengers in the August primary, John Legg. The latest news regarding the voter purge of non-citizens in Florida has come down to this: the Department of Justice is suing Florida for going ahead with the purge, and Florida is suing the Department of Homeland Security for not giving the state access to a particular database that they say would be a more accurate list of illegitimate voters.
