Congratulations to Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who turns 53 this Friday, July 29. The mayor also gets a notice by Politico as 50 Politicians to watch for being the host of the Republican National Convention coming our way in 13 months time.

CL attended yesterday's Tampa City Council meeting, and it was chock full of news – such as the council's attitude about that $550,000 they dropped for that "secret" Tampa company who was threatening to leave without some tax breaks, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The Council also will delay a vote on a panhandling ban of some sort now until September.
And oh yes, the Mayor also presented his budget yesterday.
Meanwhile, New Port Richey GOP state Senator Mike Fasano tells CL that if Rick Scott is so keen on those outrageous new Citizens property insurance rates for sinkhole coverage, he ought to come by and visit his legislative district sometime soon.
