Well a happy Monday to all of you out there in cyberspace. Welcome to the first week of school returning to Florida, and, oh yeah – our first named hurricane coming our way.

As per usual, MPR has got the lowdown on what happened on the Sunday shows, none of them, we should add, had any discussion (save for John McCain on Face the Nation) on the biggest story of the weekend, Muammar Gaddafi being deposed in Libya.

But we did see Jon Huntsman give it to his GOP opponents for president on television yesterday, and then watched immediately afterwards, when we saw a Republican pollster admit the obvious: that although Huntsman represents the political center of this country (where most people are at, ideologically speaking), that center is out of whack in today's Republican Party.

And speaking of Republicans, a local one, Dr. David McKalip, announced over the weekend that he will run for City Council in St. Petersburg in 2013.
