His renowned "I Have a Dream" speech is more than four decades old, but the words still help to shape the political and social landscape of our country. This week, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday with plenty of family-friendly events all over town, including a Unity Celebration at the International Bazaar. The observance features all kinds of cool diversions, like dance performances by the Kuumba African Dancers and Drummers; poetry and dance by local artist Katurah Robinson; a "What is Civil Rights?" presentation by WMNF Critical Times host Mabili Ajani Oguniyi; and a choral performance by the multidenominational, multicultural Bahá'í Choir. Guests also enjoy light refreshments, a photography exhibit, arts and crafts, storytelling, live music and more. Sun., Jan. 15, 3 p.m., 1600 E. Eighth Ave., Ybor City, free admission, 813-241-8292.
