A big day:
- RIP young Clemenza. Maybe now the Academy will realize its mistake in not giving you a Best Supporting Actor nod for "City Slickers."
- An honest politician, of sorts, as the Times' reveals that the son of a state senator is far outpacing his rivals in a House race fundraising. "You want a legislator that knows how to find money," Rod Jones told the daily.
- Ed Helm fails in his attempt to have an intraparty debate for Pinellas Democratic candidates. Note to party chairmen everywhere: Don't prohibit your primary candidates from running aggresively, but for God's sake, don't set up a potential bloodbath either.
- The fight over the Rainbow River (if horribly mangled in the writing, it is still a compelling tale of growth in Florida.)
- The Tribune editorial, "It Wasn't Easy, But CIty Finds Right Location for Art Museum." Yeah, right back where it is today.
- Tampa Taxi Shots blasts the government decision to give 60 more cab licenses and the Tampa Tribune's coverage of it.
- Here is a prime example of how bloggers are doing a better job than the MSM: The State of Sunshine has a handy guide to candidate editorial endorsements. Where are the MSM political reporters with this kind of stuff?
