The Mosaic Company, which has phosphate operations in areas hit hard by Hurricane Milton, said Monday it sustained โ€œlimited damageโ€ in the storm.

In a news release, Mosaic said it idled Florida operations last week to prevent potential damage from Milton.

โ€œBased on early assessments, limited damage was sustained across the facilities and to products in warehouses,โ€ the news release said. โ€œPower has been restored to all facilities, and ports in the region have re-opened. The facilities are expected to return to full production capacity over the coming days as site remediation and cleanup are completed.โ€

Milton made landfall in Sarasota County as a Category 3 hurricane before crossing the state. Mosaic has operations in areas such as Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee and Hardee counties.

After Hurricane Helene caused damage in Gulf Coast communities last month, Mosaic announced Sept. 30 that its Riverview facility was offline because of water intrusion caused by storm surge.
