Now that we've seen a string of botched Broadway tributes to rock icons (The Beach Boys, John Lennon, Boy George), Twyla Tharp's groundbreaking 2002 musical to the songs of Billy Joel, Movin' Out, seems that much more of an achievement. The formula is simple. No dialogue — just a singing piano player, a troupe of spectacular dancers and the explosive, inventive Tharp choreography that tells a story through dance of five friends' experience of the Vietnam era and its aftermath. No wonder it keeps touring and touring and touring … and no wonder it's back for another run at TBPAC. Meanwhile, Tharp, having conquered the piano man, is tackling an even more daunting musical monument for her next Broadway project: the songs of Bob Dylan. 7:30 p.m. Tues.-Thurs., 8 p.m. Fri., 2 and 8 p.m. Sat., 2 and 7 p.m. Sun., Feb. 14-19, 1010 N.
