Tampa Jazz Club welcomes multi-instrumentalist bebopper Ira Sullivan for an afternoon show at the historic Springs Theater. Sullivan is known for his ability to improvise on all the instruments he uses – trumpet, flute, alto, soprano and tenor saxophone – and was apparently a leading artist in the 1950s Chicago hard-bop scene. He’s joined by Michael Royal on piano, Richard Drexler on bass, and drummer Danny Gottlieb. Sun., Jan. 11, 3 p.m., The Springs Theater, 8029 Nebraska Ave., Tampa, $23 general/$18 members/$5 students, 813-915-0075.
