The man responsible for issuing the leaks last week to The Guardian and the Washington Post regarding the U.S.'s surveillance programs went public on Sunday.
29-year-old Edward Snowden says he took the extraordinary step because “the public needs to decide whether these programs and policies are right or wrong.” Snowden currently does not work for the U.S. government, but for defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton.
