Georgia-based group Perpetual Groove returns to the Bay area this week, bringing its trancey, psychedelic rock back to Clearwater's jam-scene base camp, Java Junction, for the second time in three months. P-Groove (as the band's affectionately referred to by fans) has built a reputation through the distribution of thousands of free CDs and an endless touring schedule that's de rigueur for jam bands. Last September's appearance at the Junction was a very well-attended affair that saw the band building triumphant exploding climaxes from the slimmest of musical beginnings. The colorful light show is a trip as well, but try not to get disoriented and knock over a hula-hoop girl. 9:30 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 15. $10. 705 Franklin St., Clearwater, $10, 727-799-1100, www.risingjupiter.net.
