A must win for the governor goes to
By Chris Ingram
Charlie Crists 2009 was a really bad year. It started last spring when the governor decided hes really a Democrat and fully embraced President Obamas nearly trillion dollar (thats 12 zeros) stimulus spending plan. This was followed by countless gaffes, scandals, ethically challenged supporters, and not a single straw poll victory for the governor anywhere in the state.
In short, Charlie lost his base and had no support from the grassroots (which may explain why he chose to add 14,000 convicted felons to the voter rolls).
That was then. This is now.
In the first test of the governors strength as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in the New Year, the Pinellas County GOP (Charlies home county) held a straw poll among party activisits on Monday night. The results are: 106 for Marco Rubio to just 54 for Charlie Crist (thats over 62 percent for Marco, and less than a third for Chuckles).
Not a good start for the tan man. Look for excuses from the campaign like straw polls are meaningless and lame attempts attacking Rubio like he cant be trusted.
This from a guy who turned his back on every Republican in the state, then lied about it repeatedly.
Thanks but no thanks Charlie. Florida Republicans dont want or need your type of leadership.
The Democrats on the other hand would probably love your tax and spend policies, welcome your lack of interest for what you are doing to our children's futures, and embrace your shameless self-promotion at the expense of tax-payers.
Why don't you join them? Republicans have had engough of you.
