The ever-present split in the Pinellas County Democratic Party is rearing its head again. Just got an e-mail about a special meeting that has been called for Oct. 10, an hour before the Pinellas Democratic Executive Committee's regularly scheduled session at 7 p.m. It appears that some members' questions to Chairman Ed Helm have forced the earlier meeting:
The 6:00pm meeting is due to a petition that was presented which requires calling a meeting:
"Chair Helm, We members of the PCDEC petition you to call a Special Meeting for the following specific purposes:
1) To address needed revisions to the 2006 Budget of the PCDEC, in light of lost revenue (Budget anticipated $11,000 in Grand Prix/Devil Rays concession funds plus $5,000 for "Chair's Dinner").
2) To lay out the Campaign Plan to show how the PCDEC, under your leadership, will reach out to the Pinellas County targeted voters in accordance with the Florida Democratic Party Coordinated Plan.
3) To obtain, via approval by a majority of PCDEC members, authority to spend PCDEC funds according to the Revised Budget so presented (with amendments, if any), and approval for the Campaign Plan so presented (with amendments, if any)."
Working to find out more about this, will post when I do.
