Walk to raise money and fight breast cancer. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer raises funds for American Cancer Society research, education and advocacy programs. Everyone willing to participate in the four-mile walk is welcome. Registration starts at 9 a.m.; the walk starts at 10. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Pinellas County asks Tampa Bay pet lovers to take part in a one-mile walk for pets and people. Tiger Teams and groups of people and their pets can walk together to represent companies, organizations, neighborhoods and families. Collected donations go toward food, shelter, and medical care for homeless and abused animals. Turn donations in no later than Oct. 25 to be eligible. Takes place at North Shore Park, 901 N.
