HIV/AIDS Volunteer Orientation

Tampa Aids Network (TAN) holds monthly orientations for volunteers, featuring an informative session (AIDS 101) on the basics of HIV/AIDS. Volunteers assist TAN with daily operations of the non-profit organization, from office support to outreach programs. Judy Genshaft, President of the University of South Florida, speaks at the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at the Columbia Restaurant, 2117 E. Seventh Ave. Genshaw addresses issues facing USF, one of the Southeast's largest universities. Prepaid reservations are $15 for members, $18 for guests, and admission without a reservation is $20. Youth Wanted For Summer Camp

The USF Oasis Summer Youth Challenge has openings for 11- to 15-year-old kids interested in canoeing, camping, swimming, environmental studies, snorkeling, anger management, communication skills and interpersonal skills. Children's Arts Classes
June 25-July 30
Pre-College and Community Outreach at USF is teaching classes in music and the performing, literary and visual arts for children. Summerplay 2001 classes are held on the USF campus and registration cost $250-$275, including parking and materials. Classes include Youth Theatre, Jazz Experience, Drawing with Color, Intro to Photography, Creative Writing I and II, TV Production, Dance and Music-Making for the Stage, Mixed Media Mania and Spanish through Art. Cancer Awareness Seminar
