Police Chief Discussion

Citizens United for Shared Prosperity holds a town hall meeting to discuss expectations for St. Petersburg's new police chief, a position which must be filled before early October. Food Drive

Pinellas Cares, a community organization for volunteer action needs donations of canned or dry goods for the poor. All contributions are donated to local food pantries and soup kitchens. Personal Health Manager

The American Cancer Society seeks volunteers in Hillsborough and Polk counties to notify physicians and health care providers about a new program called the Personal Health Manager. This free program enables newly diagnosed cancer patients to store personalized informational materials for each patient. The American Cancer Society Southwest Region office is at 1001 S. Women's New Outlook Program

The Centre for Women provides a New Outlook program for women that includes support groups for widows, women who are separated or divorced, free individual counseling sessions, job hunting classes, computer and resume writing instruction, financial management and also provides job referral sources. Counselors Needed

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay seeks volunteers to provide counseling and community referrals on its 24-hour hotline. The center also needs volunteers to counsel sexual assault victims. The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is at 1 Crisis Center Plaza, Tampa. Call 813-964-1964, ext. 3043.
