Summer Seminars for Teachers
Florida teachers can apply for all-expense-paid summer seminars at the Florida Center for Teachers in St. Petersburg. Weeklong seminars explore topics like Asian religions, Florida writers, art and culture, even hip-hop. Seminars are limited to 25 teachers — pre-K through 12 — media specialists included. Anonymous HIV Testing
Tampa AIDS Network (TAN) offers free, anonymous tests for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The tests take place 5:30 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday at the North Tampa office, 7402 N. 56th St., Corporate Square Building 100, Suite 101; and from noon to 7:30 p.m. every Thursdays at the South Tampa office, 2901 Swann Ave., Suite 107, Memorial Hospital Annex.
