Besides a cool name, Bodacious bears a boatload of juicy, easy-drinking fruit. 100 percent cabernet sauvignon, this wine has silky tannins, fragrant, violet-infused black cherry, blackberry, vanilla and an aroma you want to live in. It’s easily worth twice the price because of its quality (retail around $45).
Toad Hall Cellars is a partnership between John Komes from Napa’s Flora Springs Winery and Bob Bettencourt, a 25-year wine industry veteran and former Tampa Bay resident.
Although the Toad Hall label (around long before and not to be confused with Toad Hollow) was dormant for a number of years and available only at the Flora Springs tasting room, Bob and John revived it in early 2008, vowing to deliver their wine to the masses. Bodacious is brand new to our market but Tampa Bay also has Toad Hall Lavender Hill Pinot Noir, Carneros Pinot Noir and Napa Cabernet – available by the glass at Pacific Wave in St. Pete, Cork in Tampa and Wine Warehouse on Bay to Bay in Tampa.
