This morning on Daily Loaf, we mentioned Lady Gaga's appearing in Maine to try and sway senators Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe into breaking ranks with their anti-military Republican brethren by voting against a filibuster of the Defense Appropriations Bill. (Which, among other things, provides funding for our men and women in uniform.) Rather than stand up for the soldiers, it looks like Collins and Snowe have caved to their anti-American colleagues and voted to prevent debate on the bill.
How much will their cowardice cost our service members? Don't ask. Only time will tell …
