Governor Rick Scott continues his stay in Tampa as the Republican National Committee conducts its last full day of business in its summer meeting, and that smile you saw at that doughnut shop on Wednesday morning? It might just be a little broader today.
That's because he's shot up in the newest Quinnipiac Poll, out Friday morning. Of course, when you're as low as the Governor has been in recent public opinion surveys, frankly, unless his own party completely abandoned him, one would expect the bleeding to stop at some point.
And so it has. He's no longer in the upper 20's, but is now at 35 percent approval, with 52 percent not in support of his agenda.
The poll also shows frankly, the ignorance of the Florida electorate, which is emblematic of the national psyche, which because of all of the dark economic news continues to think they're taxed more than they actually are. Case in point? Apparently a good percentage of Floridians think the recent budget the Legislature passed and Scott signed raised taxes, when it did nothing of the sort.
