Originally reported by the Huffington Post, Apple recently dropped 5,000 apps for iPhone, many of which it considered too sexual.
Software developers received statements claiming that Apple is recalibrating the limits of what it considers appropriate. In an effort to reduce endless 4th amendment debates, Apple has yet to post specific guidelines for acceptable content. Instead, each application will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. These reviews generally occur when an application receives a large amount of complaints, most likely from parents whose kids figured out how to use these applications.
Apple has always removed questionable apps, but the amount taken down jumped sharply on February 17, likely due to the impending launch of the iPad tablet, which is marketed to families and schools.
